Migration from current system and new infrastructure development for NANC

The National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC) is a fellowship of Christian pastors and laymen who have banded together to promote excellence in biblical counseling. It is a certifying organization that provides help and encouragement and addresses several needs in the biblical counseling community.

NANC has a large membership and seeks to be a source of encouragement and fellowship.  Because of its large membership base, NANC seeks innovative ways to manage and interact with active members. Furthermore, members expect to have direct and real time access to their contact information and training history.   The NANC staff desires to have the ability to maintain an active conference registration system, member’s database and mailing list.  The portal would serve as the location where users would register for various conferences throughout the year.  This portal would also be used daily by the office staff to manage critical user data from their local network.  Their current solution was not scalable, and lacked features that were pivotal to their daily operation.

THE PROCESS

The National Association of Nouthetic Counselors contacted Sciberus to help them build an online portal for its members.  After gathering the specifications for the project, the Sciberus staff scheduled several onsite meeting which were complimented by number of conference calls and email.  Though this communication, Sciberus was able to understand NANC’s infrastructure, and develop a plan to migrate them from the antiquated system they were currently using. 

THE RESULT

After extensive consultation, Sciberus was able to design the perfect solution for NANC.   A centralized SQL database was developed and deployed to the Sciberus web servers.  Next custom modules were written to compliment Sciberus website design.  These modules included:

  • A Content management system for real time content authoring, editing and reporting.
  • A conference registration system with selective pricing to members/non members, allowed the selection of selected sections, as well as applying late fees. 
  • A searchable directory of all counselors nationwide
  • An Electronic Newsletter system
  • Donations reporting modules with member reports
  • Credit Card Processing modules for E-payment for conference registrations
  • A front end application developed in Microsoft Access application interface used by the staff members daily to interact with data
  • Secure Socket Layer Certification implementation (SSL) and Daily DB Backups.

 

In summary, the Sciberus Solution met NANC’s needs and exceeded all of their expectations. After implementing the new portal, NANC was able to manage important users’ data and to better serve its members. It also helped users to have direct access to their information and to register online for different conferences hold yearly by NANC.
